This is a medium shot taken from behind, the shot shows a boy staring out of  a window

This is also a medium shot taken from behind and front from to people .
.This is a over the shoulder shot. It shows a boy grabbing the other boys shirt. You could see the the point of view of the boy grabbing the shirt.
This is a unusual perspective because it has been shot from above.

This is a low shot angle which makes the person kicking the boy of the stairs more powerful. The effect of the boy falling makes it seem as he is about to fall on you.

This shot is taken from a low angle so you could see the persons face and body
This is a wide shot and a unusual perspective as the picture is taken slightly from above so you can see the whole picture.
This is a wide shot that shows the whole body of the boy from head to toe.
This is also a wide shot because you can see the whole scene. The to people running and the setting.
This is a Medium shot as the picture is taken from the waist and above.

This shot is taken from a low angle as the could see the persons body lying almost from is point of view and you could see only the girls foot.

This shot is taken from a high angle so you can see the girl dragging the boy

I was given an outline of a fruit bowl and had to ad in the different colours to fill in the gaps. I chose pastel colours out of many options I could choose from because I suggested it would look more creative. I chose this picture of pastel colours because it had the exact misty shade i was lookibng for and had a vairaty of colours. I used the came colours of the same fruit but just different shades for a 3D like effect.I used the eye dropper tool to collect the colours from the picture and place them on my fruit bowl.

I was given a task to choose a certain picture and do the same process as the first one but add parts of a picture in instead of colours. It was quite tricky hence and needed alot of time hence why I wasn't able to finish it all. I chose an autumn phase as I though it was have a vairaty of colours and I could use this to zoom up on one certain colour to make it look neater.

            Key conventions

Language:
The title, tag-line and billing block all follow the expected codes and conventions of a film poster. The effect created here is by the title, the word ‘Alien’ shows that it is something out of the world, possibly in space as it has a very dark background. The tagline creates the idea that there is an alien in space alone.

Institution:
The film was produced by, Gale Ann Hurd, who produces Sci-fi and horror movies. Alien was very successful being awarded for the best science fiction film.
Audience: I suggest that the film is targeted at mainly boys more than girls, because of the dark colors and the alien-like effects.  Boys are mostly more intrigued with out of space themes and abnormal creatures than girls are. The movie could be rated 15 as there may be unpleasant, inappropriate scenes for younger children that could frighten them.

Representation:
The picture shows and Alien cracking its way of an egg, you cannot see the features of the creature but the audience can make out that it is an Alien from the title and the bright green light glowing out the egg which is a colour that represents Aliens. You can also realize that the film is set in outer space because of the pitch black darkness and the tag line.

Release date: Produced in 2014
Summit Entertainment has also released Twilight which became very successful and was released  few years before Divergent.

Cost of film:
In total Divergent cost 85 million USD which was a good risk because they earned 250 million USD, which gave them a profit of 165 million USD. When Insurgent was made (A second version of Divergent) it cost them 110 million USD to make the film which was 25 million USD more than Divergent. Insurgent earnt  288 million USD which gave them a profit of 178 million USD which means this was much more sucessful then the original and first film, Divergent.

Reviews on Divergent by Audience:
The audience have different opinions on  this film, many people suggest it was an exciting and very fantasy like, others have suggested it is very unrealistic etc. Overall Divergent was rated three and a half stars by audience. Divergent was nominated for many awards such as:

-Peoples Choice Award for Favorite Action Movie (2015)
-Peoples Choice Award for Favorite Movie Duo - Shailene Woodley, Theo James(2015)
-Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Actress: Action/Adventure - Shailene Woodley(2014)
-MTV Movie Award for Favorite Character - Shailene Woodley(2014)

-Teen Choice Award for Film - Choice Movie : Action Adventure(2014)
-Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Actor: Action/Adventure - Theo James(2014)

Target Audience:
The film has been rated PG-13, which in my opinion is slightly accurate but not exactly. I suggest that the age ratings should be lower as there isn't any very harsh scenes or any inappropriate scenes. I suggest the age ratings should be rated from 12 to 35 because older adults may find the Dystopian genre interesting and there is a bit of  romance as well. Though i do suggest that it is slightly more recommended for younger people as there is adventure and Sci-fi. I also suggest that the the film is slightly more for woman then men. I would say it is 55% for woman and 45% men. I suggest this because the movie is for both men and woman and there is adventure and violence for the men, but also romance for the woman and after all the main character is a woman.
